Pink (Pinker Pink 238)

Washable toy stuffing

Tension
30 stitches and 40 rows = 10cm over stocking stitch using 2.75mm needles.
Abbreviations
k – knit
p – purl
st(s) – stitch(es)
tog – together
inc – increase (by working into front and back of stitch)
ssk – slip, slip, knit (for left-leaning decrease)
Striped Case Cupcake
SIDES
With 2.75mm needles and White, cast on 21 stitches.
Work 2 rows in White.
Switch to Pink and work 2 rows.
Repeat these 4 rows a total of 3 more times (16 rows).
Finish with 2 rows in White.
Do not break off yarn.
TOP RIM
With right side facing and 2.75mm needles, use attached yarn to pick up and knit 49 stitches evenly along row-end edge.
Next row: Knit.
Next row: Knit, placing a marker on the right side to indicate back of the cupcake.
Knit 1 more row, cast off knitwise.
CAKE
With right side facing and 2.75mm needles, use Beige and pick up and knit 49 stitches evenly along row-end edge of sides.
Increase row:
P3, (purl into front and back of next st, p5) 7 times, p3.
– 57 sts
Knit 1 row, then purl 1 row.
ICING
Join in White.
1st decrease row:
K1, (k2tog, k5) 8 times – 49 sts
Work 4 rows in stocking stitch.
2nd decrease row:
K1, (k2tog, k4) 8 times – 41 sts
Work 3 more rows.
3rd decrease row:
K1, (k2tog, k3) 8 times – 33 sts
Work 1 row.
4th decrease row:
K1, (k2tog, k2) 8 times – 25 sts
Work 1 row.
5th decrease row:
K1, (k2tog, k) 8 times – 17 sts
Work 1 row.
6th decrease row:
K1, (k2tog) 8 times – 9 sts
Break off yarn, thread through remaining stitches, pull up tightly and secure.
TO MAKE UP
Join the side seam and stuff the cupcake firmly.
Stitch the icing opening closed.
Sew on buttons and beads for decoration.
Use the finished photo as a guide for placement.
